Bucklesham to EykeThis part of the tour takes you around the Victorian seaside town of Felixstowe, now the busiest container port in the UK. From here you will cross the River Deben estuary (by foot & cycle ferry for which a small fare is required) to the pretty Bawdsey Quay. Carrying on along the coastal route and then through Rendlesham Forest - a vast area of forest, famous for UFO sightings. Together with Tunstall and Dunwich Forests, the three forests cover much of the sandy heath lands found along the Suffolk coastline. The forest routes open up some excellent off road cycling opportunities before arriving at your next site in Eyke. Bypass Felixstowe if you like and choose from any number of forest tracks or an on road option if you prefer. |
