Q. Am I too old to camp?

A. Camping in our tents is a bit of a cheat on traditional camping. You have a lot of modern comforts that your would not get in your own tent. You are as old as you feel. Our oldest customer so far has been 74 - can you beat that?

Q. For the Cycle Tour, what amount of cycling can I cope with?

A. Novice cyclists should be able to cycle up to twenty miles a day quite comfortably, thirty miles starts to get a bit tiring but is readily achievable by most semi fit people. More frequent cyclists won't have a problem with far longer distances. Children can usually cycle quite happily up to twenty miles, and with breaks longer distances are not a great problem either. Our routes enable you to choose shorter options should you need to and we also offer single site holidays if your do not wish to cycle too far.

Q. I have young children, how do you cater for them bike wise?

A. We have a number of bike solutions, from trailers to tag-a-longs so that children from babies to independent young cyclists can be catered for safely.

Q. For the cycle tour, are the routes dangerous?

A. Our tours combine a mixture of quiet country lanes and off road tracks. You should expect to find a few vehicles on these roads since they are sometimes the only means of connecting small country hamlets and villages.

Q. Is the cycle tour holiday suitable for children?

A. Most definitely. Children learn road skills, countryside awareness and have a great time cycling, camping and exploring. Routes can be challenging or easy, depending on your mood.

Q. Can I turn up to any of your holidays by train?

A. Yes, all destinations are within a few miles of a train station but you will need to arrange for a local taxi firm to help you to the campsite. For the cycle tour its best to start from Wickham Market which has a station 1.5 miles from the campsite.

Q. I want to bring my own bike, is that a good idea?

A. Generally if you are an experienced cyclist then you probably know what you are doing and can make that decision for yourself. For cycle tour holidays we don't recommend it in case of problems - we have the bits and insurance to mend our own bikes but not yours. For single site holidays this is probably less of a problem should your bike go wrong.

Q. Should my children bring their bikes on a cycle tour?

A. As well as issues raised in the above question, younger children may have difficulty sustaining a full day of cycling. For this reason we usually recommend that young children use a tag-a-long which enables them to pedal when they want to but be towed when they feel tired. They may prefer to bring their own bike and use one of our tag-a-longs, your children can then cycle on some days but not others. Please call us to discuss what's best for you.

Q. What happens if it rains?

A. You'll get wet! On the positive side, our tents are spacious and dry and you can hang clothes out to dry inside the tent and most sites have laundrettes to wash and dry clothes if necessary. Good clothing is the key, just as it would be if you went skiing.

Q. Will I get cold camping?

A. During the summer this is very unlikely. In the earlier parts of the year until June the evenings can still be a bit cool. Obviously Autumn is also cooler. Decent sleeping bags are advisable and bring yourself a blanket. Our tents are equipped with heaters from April - June and from September onwards - we take them out during the peak of the summer.

Q. What will happen in an emergency?

A. Whatever the situation we will always try to help you. Just call us and we will try to sort your problem out.

Q. Do you provide bedding?

A. Bedding is not inclusive in the price. We recommend you bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. We do sell bedding packs for guests who don't have their own sleeping bag. We donate used sleeping bags to charity should you not wish to take them home with you.

Q. Are Dogs Allowed?

A. Dogs are most welcome. Most campsites require dogs to be kept on a lead and they also ban some dangerous breed dogs which are illegal in the UK. Other than this one or two dogs are very welcome. A small charge is required for bringing your dogs.

Q. On the cycle tour holiday do I have to go food shopping on my bike?

A. That's up to you but the easiest method is to stock up before or on day 1 and let us move your food as part of your luggage transfer service, that way you won't have to worry about shopping. Most people add bits and bobs that they find along the way but stock up on the basics at the start of the week.
